Scene Fever is an independent publication based between Spokane, Washington, and Toronto, Ontario, and a home for the chronically obsessed. Built by lifelong fans of music, art, and internet culture, we’re creating the kind of magazine that believes caring deeply about things is something to be proud of. We want Scene Fever to feel like Warped Tour, Tumblr dashboards, Riot Grrrl meets J-14, staying up on YouTube, buying a CD just because you loved the album cover, hearing your favorite song live for the first time, Hot Topic in 2012; everything that encapsulates the 2000s-2010s nostalgia.
Inspired by the magazines we grew up with and the scenes we grew up in, we're creating the publication we always wished existed: one that celebrates music, internet culture, fashion, art, and all the people who make these communities feel like home.
Bianca Di Santo
Bianca is a Toronto-based graphic designer. Through her passion for music and love for creativity, she designs mainly for artists, bands, and DJ's, while also experimenting with editorial design. The idea of Scene Fever came to be while reminiscing about growing up with magazines like J-14 and TigerBeat; that nostalgic, memorable editorial content style was something she always wanted to relive and recreate. Teaming up with her co-founder Destiny, they created this zine as an ode to the nostalgia that comes along with Y2K & 2010s magazines, pop-culture, music, and the communities built within these.
Destiny Swope
Destiny is a Spokane-based writer, editor, and lifelong fangirl. She’s the kind of person who hosts album listening parties the night of the drop, complete with themed treats and an unreasonable amount of excitement. Writing has always been her favorite way to tum the things she can't stop thinking about into something bigger. Destiny has always wanted to create the kind of publication that takes the things we're obsessed with just as seriously as we do.
